AUDREY MACLEAN is a New England-based dance/performance artist. Since graduating from Connecticut College, Audrey has had the pleasure of performing throughout the Northeast in work by a number of artists including: Jimena Bermejo, Peter DiMuro, Morgan Griffin/griffindance, Heidi Henderson, Kimberleigh Holman, Grant Jacoby, Annie Kloppenberg, Betsy Miller, Ruckus Dance, shovegentlydance, and others.
Audrey's choreographic work has been presented at a number of theaters and festivals throughout the Northeast including through Green Street Studio's New Works program, The Dance Complex's aMaSSiT program, as part of DanceNOW Boston at ART's Oberon (2016) and DanceNOW Boston at The Dance Complex (2024). Audrey’s work has also been featured by CPTV's Spotlight on the Arts. Most recently, Audrey’s evening-length work “The Dance Show” was presented at Arts on Site by The Bang Group. Her dance films have been presented nationally by DanceNOW NYC, the Dance on Camera Festival at Symphony Space, CreateART, the Maine International Film Festival, the Artsits in Motion FIlm Festival, and internationally at the Inshadow Lisbon Screendance Festival in Portugal. She was recently awarded an Artist Project Grant by the Maine arts Commission for her newest film-in-progress.
Audrey was named one of the Boston Center for the Art’s Dancemakers Laboratory Resident Artists for the 2022-2023 Season. You can learn more about that work-in-progress here. In 2025 she was a Summer Resident Artist at Bearnstow.
Aside from her choreographic pursuits, Audrey has served in administrative roles for the Bates Dance Festival, The Dance Complex, Green Street Studios, and Moving Target Boston. In the spring of 2016 she co-produced and curated an evening of short dance/performance work titled “Dance Shorts” which brought together eight Boston-area choreographers. She is also a founding member of Boston-area dance collaborative The Click.
Audrey has also taught technique and composition classes at both the professional and pre-professional level at: Bates College, Berklee College of Music, The Dance Complex, Développé (Sudbury, MA), The Foundry (Cambridge, MA), Moving Target Portland, Moving Target Boston, and Rising Tide Charter School, among others. She was a Teaching Artist for the Maine Arts Alliance “Building Community Through Arts” program in 2024 & 2025. Audrey is currently teaching Professional-Level Modern/Contemporary Classes for The Click at The Dance Complex in Cambridge, MA.
